Bus stops

In the former USSR the bus stops were individually designed. Many stops were decorated with mosaic pictures. The motives are varied – from working class heroes (e.g. miners and milkmaids), officers and border guards, people in traditional costumes, mother with child through to landscapes and abstract images.
In this work I have examined the visual language of the Soviet system. What was communicated to the people? What themes were deemed worthy of being shown in such pictures?
